Focus and Scope

The GLOBE MANAGEMENT REVIEW has been established to serve as a preeminent source of knowledge on "glocal" business. As companies begin to sell outside their home countries, they are faced with the complex task of adjusting to the needs of foreign markets. Products and marketing strategies must be adapted, websites must be localized, and additional organizational structures and work processes must be established. At the same time, companies still wish to establish standardized brand identity and economies of scale at a global level. GMR explores how companies can answer questions on whether and how to adapt or standardize their strategies. GMR recognizes the need to communicate in the language of the target market, as well as the need to take into account how business both affects and is affected by international socio-economic and political issues. GMR is directed to key managers in companies concerned with international business.

GMR is an online, peer-reviewed publication utilizing an open journal system. Articles are published on a rolling basis. GMR also includes Executive Practice, a non-peer-reviewed forum directed to managers, providing interviews, management updates, and executive digests.

This journal is a publication of the GLOBE Center at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. The GLOBE Center provides research, consulting and training in global business and localization management. GLOBE is also a partner in the Globalisation Management Strategies Conference series. The next conference is scheduled to be held March 29-30, 2007 in Monterey, CA.
