Author Guidelines
GMR's articles examine the role in globalization and localization in a wide variety of management functions, industries, and geographies. GMR is particularly interested in manuscripts that address the practical application of global-local or standardization-adaptation theory in business settings, as well as the role of localization in international market development.
GMR is an applied, practitioner-oriented journal that helps bridge the gap between theory and practice, connecting academicians with practitioners. Articles reflect rigorous research or thorough analysis of key issues, but emphasize the results and application of such research and analysis. The best articles demonstrate fresh thinking that advances previous knowledge, utilizing practical application that has been thought through in clear, jargon-free language. All submissions are subject to peer review.
Submitted manuscripts will be processed with quick turnaround. Due to the online, rolling publication, manuscripts may go from submission to publication in 6-12 weeks if approved.
Objectives of GMR include the following:
• To discuss how managers can develop effective approaches for globalizing (standardizing) and/or localizing (adapting) their strategies, products and information content to the conditions of international markets.
• To aggregate knowledge on innovative practices in global new product development.
• To raise the profile of the translation/localization industry, linking localization of language content to localization of marketing strategy and identifying the global business practices that drive the language industry.
• To discuss how companies can simultaneously pursue the benefits of both standardization and local responsiveness, based on GMR’s editorial belief that "glocalization" can be engineered and invented.
• To address the macroeconomic and policy issues that shape our global society and influence business.
• To be the authority on developing effective, cross-cultural approaches to international business, communication and policy.
Possible topics for GMR articles may include the following:
• Best practices and new theories in "glocal" business practice
• Case studies
• Regional studies
• Management of languages and language technology
• "Glocal" socio-economic policy

Style and format guidelines for feature articles
• Notes, citations, and references should be numbered in the text and compiled at the end of the manuscript (endnote format). All bibliographic material should be contained directly in the notes and not as a separate section.
• Tables, charts, and diagrams should be placed on separate pages within the manuscript.
• Word Count: Manuscripts should be approximately 3,000 – 5,000 words. Please contact the editor regarding manuscripts that are beyond this range.
• Articles should be as jargon-free as possible. Terminology and acronyms that are not common knowledge should be defined. Technical material should be placed in notes or appendices whenever possible.
• Manuscript format: Articles should be submitted double-spaced in 12 point type Times New Roman. Please double space the manuscript and include your name, title, and email at the top of the article.
• GMR uses the Chicago Manual of Style as primary reference source.
Editing: The editor reserves the right to make edits in the manuscript for accuracy and space consideration.
